Terms of Use
Last updated: July 12, 2026 ยท App: Taqwa โ Your Islamic Companion
1. Acceptance of the terms
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the mobile app Taqwa โ Your Islamic Companion (hereinafter, "the App" or "Taqwa") and the website taqwamuslim.com. By downloading, installing or using the App, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the App.
The processing of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. License to use
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use Taqwa on devices you own, for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute or resell the App or parts of it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code.
- Use the App in a way that violates the law or the rights of third parties.
- Access or attempt to access other users' systems or data without authorization.
3. Your account
Some features require creating an account (for example, the Ummah community or syncing your progress). You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your credentials confidential. You must be at least 13 years old (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) to create an account.
You can delete your account at any time from within the App or by writing to our contact email.
4. Taqwa Pro: subscription and free trial
Downloading Taqwa is free and includes the essential features. Taqwa Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks advanced features (such as the Noor assistant, Guided Tilawa or the Khatm Tracker).
- Management and billing: subscriptions are managed and billed through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play, depending on your device, using your store account.
- Free trial: when offered, the free trial gives full access to Pro for the stated period. At the end of it, the subscription is billed automatically unless you cancel beforehand.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless canceled, at the price then shown in the store.
- Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from the subscription settings of your App Store or Google Play account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.
- Refunds: refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's policies, as they are the ones who process payment.
5. Acceptable use and community
In Taqwa's social features (sharing du'as, ayahs and messages with friends), you agree to maintain respectful and fraternal conduct. The following is not allowed:
- Posting offensive, defamatory, discriminatory or hateful content.
- Impersonating other people.
- Sending spam or unsolicited commercial content.
- Sharing content that infringes third-party rights.
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules.
6. Religious and informational content
Taqwa is built with the utmost care and respect: the texts of the Quran, du'as and Islamic content come from recognized sources. However, the App is informational and intended to support your practice: it does not replace the advice of scholars or your local imam. For matters of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) that affect your personal situation, always consult knowledgeable people in your community.
Responses from the Noor assistant are generated using artificial intelligence supported by sources from the Quran and Hadith. While we work to make them accurate, they may contain errors; always verify important information. Prayer times and the qibla direction are calculated using recognized astronomical methods, but may vary slightly from your local mosque.
7. Intellectual property
The App, its design, code, brand and proprietary content are owned by Taqwa or its licensors, and are protected by intellectual property laws. The text of the Holy Quran is not subject to appropriation; the translations and recitations used belong to their respective authors and are used in accordance with their licenses.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Taqwa is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the App will be free of errors or interruptions, or that it will be available continuously. Some features depend on third-party services (internet connection, GPS, app stores) beyond our control.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taqwa will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the App. Nothing in these terms limits any rights that consumer protection law grants you on a non-waivable basis.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. Clauses that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, limitation of liability) will remain in effect after termination.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the App or applicable legislation. We will publish the current version on this page along with its update date, and in the event of material changes we will notify you within the App. Continued use after such changes constitutes acceptance of them.
12. Contact
For any questions about these terms, write to us at mbenamakh2709@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
